To earn the title of Certified Golf Course superintendent, the applicant must have their golf course reviewed by two currently certified golf course superintendents. They must also prove academic capabilities by passing a comprehensive six hour written examination covering every facet of the profession. Less than 10 percent of all eligible superintendents are currently certified.
