EXPERIENCE :: WYKAGYL COUNTRY CLUB

The following bullet point list highlights the many activities preformed during my tenure at Wykagyl; it is by no means a complete list of duties and/or projects completed.

Director of Sports and Facilities

Responsibilities Include:  

      • Golf Course Maintenance - development and implementation of all the golf course maintenance programs, purchasing and budget preparations.
      • Golf program - scheduling, member event and cooperate outing.
      • Tennis program - membership scheduling, including installation and maintenance of courts
      • Pool facility - management and maintenance
      • Bowling Alleys - maintenance and event scheduling
      • Paddle courts - maintenance and event coordination
      • Summer Sports Camp : Coordination of all activities associated   with    successfully   running of a summer day camp with the emphasis on sports

Golf Course Superintendent

  • Prepared golf course for an LPGA Tour major event (1993 - 1999). The Sybase classic (formally, the JAL Big Apple classic) presented by Golf Magazine .
  • Consistently was ranked amongst the top two best maintained golf courses on the tour.
  • Achieved top 100 ranking from Golfweeks top 100 golf course ranking for "classic" golf courses.
  • Participated with Arthur Hills , golf course architect in the restoration of the entire golf course and property for Wykagyl Country Club. This included: All new tee's, bunkers, practice facility, drainage work, and several newly constructed greens.
  • Supervised the installation of a completely new irrigation system with a Flowtronic pump station.
  • Work extensively with local, country and state environmental agencies to mitigate the long term affects of non-point pollution to the Long Island Sound.
  • Was awarded an environmental stewardship award for water conservation efforts implemented at Wykagyl.
  • Initiated and edited a quarterly newsletter educating the membership of our agronomic practices.
